Abstract 

My largest oil paintings on canvas are abstracted landscapes that are 
an experiential response to walking the hills and to the weather out 
here on the Welsh Marches, but also are all about the paint. 

On the gessoed panels I paint in thin layers of oil, building up from a black or an umber and I sand back to the gesso to open up some white space, finishing the picture with a wax matt varnish.
