My daily call-out rate is £250 to run an Art class in your space, POA if you come to our Studios at Castle Hill in Knucklas.
This three day workshop collects aspects of the landscape using sketching au plein air and through painting and collage in the studio moves towards abstracting the landscape by making multiple studies in paint and graphite on small panels. Suitable for all levels from beginners to students who might want to work on their portfolios to professional artists who want to build on previous experience.
Learn to draw and paint the figure, using basic measuring techniques and try out a variety of drawing materials on paper. Because sometimes it is really difficult to hire a life model, I have found that drawing a clothed figure is a good alternative and have often called upon my own children and their friends to model for my classes at the Oriel Davies. Sometimes I add in a little bit of costume and set dressing to create the mis en scen .
I offer a short course, looking at 20th c British Artists as a guide to different genres of Still life, Landscape, Townscape, Flowers, Abstraction and figure drawing. This suits students and beginners and is based on copying and translating original art works which helps move on your painting technique and putting that experience and understanding into your own work.
When I was in film school, we used photocopies to make card models and 3d collages. These are a nice way of collecting buildings and can also be a great shortcut to develop ideas or used as mini sets for animation.
These stop motion animations are so much fun and can tell a story that everyone loves to watch. I have some equipment to hold your camera still while you move around the stars of the show. You just need a smart phone and to download a free stop motion animation app.
Working with museum collections to gain an insight into materials and production, in this case a Renaissance painting on loan from the National collection of Wales and trying to make and use egg tempera.
